This page explains how articles on Pigeonpedia are written, checked and updated.
Who writes our articles
Articles on the site have been written by Dan, who started Pigeonpedia in January 2020, Denise and Cristina Vulpe, DVM, PhD. Each article shows who wrote it.
Research and sources
We base our advice on published guidance from bodies such as the RSPCA and wildlife rescues, and on veterinary sources. Where an article relies on outside sources, we list them at the end of the page. We check the links to those sources and fix or remove ones that no longer work.
Vet involvement
Cristina Vulpe is a registered veterinarian. She originally wrote many of our health articles and reviews health-related content and other key articles. Pages she has written or checked carry a note saying so. If one of those pages has been updated since, the note gives the date of the update.
Our health pages give general information. They are not a substitute for an examination by a vet. If a bird is injured or seriously ill, contact an avian vet or a wildlife rescue as soon as you can.
Updates and corrections
Articles show the date they were last updated or reviewed. If you think something on the site is wrong or out of date, please tell us through the contact page, with a link to the article. We check reports and correct articles where needed.
Affiliate links and our eBook
Some pages contain affiliate links, mostly to Amazon. As an Amazon Associate, Pigeonpedia earns from qualifying purchases. If you click one of these links and buy something, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Pages with Amazon links say so.
We also sell our own beginner’s guide to pigeon keeping as an eBook through Gumroad.
